Our Mission

At Rainscape, our mission is simple: to provide the most beautiful, frictionless, and endlessly customizable ambient soundscape on the internet. We believe that finding focus or getting a good night's sleep shouldn't require creating accounts, navigating through ads, or paying monthly subscriptions.

The Technology

Unlike traditional sound apps that play pre-recorded, looped MP3 files, Rainscape uses advanced Web Audio API synthesis to generate rain and thunder procedurally in real-time. This means that every single raindrop is synthesized dynamically on your device. The result is an infinite, non-repeating audio stream that sounds entirely natural and organic.

Paired with our procedural audio is a high-performance HTML5 Canvas visual engine. The visual particles are mathematically linked to your audio settings, creating a multi-sensory experience that perfectly matches your desired intensity—from a gentle drizzle to a heavy thunderstorm.

Why Rain Sounds?

Rain sounds act as a natural form of pink noise. The broad spectrum of frequencies produced by rainfall works incredibly well to mask background noises—such as traffic, loud neighbors, or office chatter. This acoustic camouflage helps lower your brain's arousal levels, making it easier to concentrate on deep work or drift into a restful sleep.

Designed for You

We built Rainscape to be a Progressive Web App (PWA). This means you can install it directly to your home screen on iOS or Android, use it completely full-screen, and enjoy a native app experience without ever having to visit an app store.
